Here at Balule River Camp we can accommodate 12 guests in our 6 rooms. We have two master suites with king size beds, one with an outdoor shower, where you can enjoy showering under the stars. And four standard double rooms, two with double beds and two with two single beds.
All our rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mozzi nets, hairdryers, safety boxes and complementary tea & coffee. Screen doors ensure closeness to nature, while keeping the “creepy crawlies” out.
The wooden decks/terraces in front of all the rooms are furnished with cosy loungers, and overlook the rushing Olifants River. Here you can enjoy observing the wildlife activities that take place around the river area, or enjoy the abundant birdlife, or simply just relax with a good book soaking up / embracing the voice of nature.
Our main house, build in a classic African style, consists of a dining room, living room and library. Extended from the main house, looking toward the river is the magical “Africa” deck with comfy seating, where everyone meets before dinner for drinks and shares the day’s experiences. To compliment the food wine can be chosen from our personally selected wine list.
Mealtimes have a cosy, homely atmosphere and our cuisine is a combination of international and South African specialities. Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed on the Main house deck, overlooking the river and dinner is served next to an open fire in the boma, whilst enjoying the mystical nocturnal sounds under the African starlit sky.

Pool & Lapa
Balule River Camp has a beautiful pool deck surrounded by sun loungers and large umbrellas with an unspoiled view of the Olifants River. Soak up the sun next to the pool and enjoy a refreshing drink from the pool bar. The “Lapa” situated next to the pool is furnished with big cosy sofas, perfect for relaxing outside when one wants to be shielded from the sun.
Our fitness room is equipped with a treadmill, a spinning bicycle, a cross-trainer, weights, a boxing bag and a yoga mat. Although the bush walk provides some relaxing exercise, those not wanting to leave their fitness regime at home are welcome to use the fitness room. Because the fitness faces the Olifants River, besides training one might also have great game viewing.
The souvenir shop at Balule River Camp has a selection of postcards, small gifts and safari clothing.
